What To Expect From Musandam Scuba Diving?

Geographically, the Musandam peninsula juts into the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow entry into the Persian Gulf, from the Arabian Peninsula. The Musandam Peninsula is an exclave of Oman, a picturesque region separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates.

Musandam has one of the most breathtakingly dramatic landscapes in the world, with the northern mountain range dropping vertically into the sea. The rugged “Fjord-like” coastline is dotted with hidden coastal villages, rich in long-standing history and traditions in dhow building and fishing.

Tour Itinerary

Musandam scuba diving trip is the best tour to explore the pristine marine life and underwater corals and reefs. Here is the detailed itinerary for the Khasab Musandam scuba diving trip.

08:30 – Meet & Greet

We expect all divers to reach our office Dhow Khasab Tours by 08:30 am. Here is our office location. Google Map. If you are coming from Dubai, please make sure you leave early as it will take around 3.5 hours from Dubai to Khasab, Musandam Oman.

09:00 – Equipment Testing

To enjoy the Musandam diving trip, it is very important to have perfect diving equipment. As soon as you arrive we will leave for diving equipment checking and make sure all divers get comfortable diving gear.

09:30 – Departure

After getting the diving equipment, we will board the speed boat and leave for the diving area. Where we dive, depends on the weather and sea conditions. Normally we go to Kumzar or Khor Najd areas in Musandam Oman.

10:30 – First Dive

It takes around 45 minutes from Khasab to reach the diving area depending on the sea conditions. After we reach, we will set up all equipment and get ready for our first dive which will be around 45 minutes long.

11:30 – Relax Time

After we end up our first dive,  there will be around 45 minutes of relaxing time between the second dive. We will have some refreshments to get ready for the second time. There may be soft drinks, coffee tea, and plain water as well.

12:15 – Second Dive

The second dive will be around 12:15 and we explore the amazing pristine marine life. Our second dive will last for almost forty-five minutes to one hour and then we come back to the boat.

14:00 – Khasab Arrival

We will leave for Khasab Musandam around 01:15 pm and reach around 02:00 pm. Musandam scuba diving trip can also be combined with the overnight dhow cruise to make it more entertaining.

Border Crossing Details

  • Single entry Oman visit vis is 5 OMR each and 35 AED UAE exit fee need to be paid on the border.
  • The passport of all participants must be valid for more than 90 days from the travel date.
  • If you have a UAE resident visa then it must be valid for more than 90 days.
  • You must carry your original passports with you to cross the border.
  • You must carry a vehicle registration card (Mulika to cross the border.
  • If you don’t have car insurance, you can buy it from the border. (around 100 AED)
  • If you are renting a car then must get a NOC from a car Rental Company to cross borders.
  • If you have sponsored (dependent) visa then the sponsor must be traveling along.
  • All professions are not eligible for an arrival visa, check your profession first.
  • Single entry visa holders are not allowed, their visa will be canceled on exiting UAE.
