The Difference
A Day In The Musandam Fjords
The drive from Dubai heads north through Ras Al Khaimah to the Al Dara border. Our team handles the paperwork on both sides while you wait in the vehicle. Once across into Oman the road enters the mountains and the coastline opens up below. Khasab is around 45 minutes from the border.
At Khasab port a traditional Omani dhow is ready at the dock. The boat heads deep into Khor Sham past the fishing villages of Nadafi, Qanaha, Maqlab and Sham. Spinner dolphins and humpback dolphins are common at the fjord entrance. The first stop is Telegraph Island, named after the British relay station built here in 1864 for the first submarine telegraph cable. Seebi Island follows in the afternoon, the water here is the clearest on the route.

Hour By Hour
Musandam Khasab Tour Itinerary
06:00 AM — Pickup from Dubai
Your driver arrives at your door. Exact pickup time and location confirmed the night before on WhatsApp. Sharjah guests are collected around 06:50 AM and RAK guests around 07:30 AM.
08:30 AM — Al Dara Border Crossing
The UAE to Oman border at Al Dara is where most first-time visitors get nervous, but you don't have to. Our team handles the paperwork and visa process on both sides. Follow the instructions of the border team to make it easier.
09:30 AM — Board the Dhow at Khasab Port
Your dhow and crew are ready at Khasab port. Step aboard and enjoy Arabic coffee, tea, fresh fruits and soft drinks as the crew prepares to depart.
10:00 AM — Into the Khasab Fjords
The dhow leaves Khasab port and heads into Khor Sham. The mountains rise on both sides as the boat moves deeper into the fjord. En route the dhow passes the fishing villages of Nadafi, Qanaha, Maqlab and Sham, small communities accessible only by boat.
10:45 AM — Dolphins
Spinner dolphins and humpback dolphins are both common in these waters. The crew cuts the engine when they appear and most groups see them at close range. The boat waits before continuing deeper into the fjord.
12:00 PM — Telegraph Island
The dhow anchors at Telegraph Island where British engineers built a relay station for the first submarine telegraph cable. Snorkeling gear and kayaks are provided for guests who want a closer look at the coral and reef fish around the island.
01:00 PM — Lunch on Deck
As the dhow leaves Telegraph Island lunch comes out. Green salad, hummus, Arabic bread, biryani rice, white rice, chicken curry, beef potato curry, fried chicken, fried fish, vegetable gravy and dal fry, with unlimited soft drinks and water. The boat moves toward Seebi Island while you eat.
01:30 PM — Seebi Island
The afternoon swim stop. The water here is calm and shallow close to shore. Most guests swim, snorkel or simply float before the boat turns back toward Khasab port.
04:00 PM — Return to Khasab Port
The dhow turns back toward port. The Al Dara border crossing back into the UAE takes around the same time as the morning crossing. Our team handles everything.
07:30 PM — Back at Your Door
You are dropped at the same point you were collected from in the morning. The day is done and the only thing you had to manage was showing up on time.

Booked an all inclusive Dubai to Musandam day trip, would highly recommend. Great communication from start to finish, picked us up from where we were staying. Assistance provided with border crossing. Dhow boat trip was amazing, seen lots of dolphins, had a wonderful lunch and snorkeled in beautiful turquoise waters. All at a very reasonably priced.
