The Difference
2 Days In Musandam, Fjords And Mountains
Most visits to Musandam pick one landscape and stop there, either the water or the mountains. This trip covers three, a day cruise through the fjords, a night of beach camping, and a mountain safari the next morning, finished with lunch at Al Shamalia Grill and Restaurant.
Day one runs entirely on the water, cruising through Khor Sham, stopping at Telegraph Island, and settling into camp at Saif Al Ghareeb for the night. Day two leaves the coast behind, climbing past Khor Najd and Bait Al Qufl on the way to the 2,087 meter summit of Jebel Al Harim, before the reserved table waiting at Al Shamalia.
Two days, three experiences, one trip through Musandam, Oman.

Hour By Hour
Musandam Trip 2 Days One Night Itinerary
09:30 AM — Dockside at Khasab Port
Your dhow and crew are ready at the dock. Board when you arrive, get settled on deck and the crew serves Arabic coffee, tea and fresh fruits while the boat prepares to leave.
10:00 AM — Departure from Khasab port
The dhow leaves Khasab port and heads into the fjords, with Musandam's cliffs rising on both sides of the boat almost immediately.
10:15 AM — Entering Into Fjords
Known as the Norway of Arabia for its scale, Khor Sham is the longest fjord in Musandam, and the boat spends the morning moving through it.
10:45 AM — Dolphin Watching
Spinner and humpback dolphins are commonly seen near the fjord entrance, often moving alongside the boat for several minutes at a time.
12:30 PM — Telegraph Island
A stop for snorkeling around the ruins of a nineteenth century British telegraph relay station, now surrounded by clear water and reef fish.
01:00 PM — Lunch served aboard
As the dhow leaves Telegraph Island lunch comes out. Fried chicken, lentil curry, mixed vegetable curry, rice, hummus, Arabic bread (khubz), green salad and unlimited soft drinks and water. The boat moves toward Seebi Island while you eat.
02:00 PM — Seebi Island
A quieter stop further along the route, giving a different angle on the surrounding cliffs before the boat turns toward camp.
04:00 PM — transfer To Beach
A short speed boat ride brings the group to the beach camp, where tents, bedding and seating are already set up on arrival.
06:30 PM — Campfire and music at camp
As the light fades, the crew lights the campfire and sets up music around the Majlis seating. Enough wood is arranged for the campfire.
07:00 PM — BBQ dinner at sunset
BBQ dinner is served on the beach including chicken kebab, grilled fish, rice, fried chicken, beef kebab, and fresh salad. After the dinner guests gather around the campfire and enjoy music.
07:00 AM — Breakfast at sunrise
Breakfast is served on the beach as the sun comes up over the water, with the mountains still catching the early light behind the camp. It includes boiled eggs, jam, Nutella, bread, bottled juices, coffee and tea.
09:00 AM — Return to Khasab port
A speed boat brings the group back from Saif Al Ghareeb to Khasab port to begin the second day where mountain safari vehicle is already waiting to leave.
09:30 AM — Mountain safari departure
A 4x4 safari vehicle picks the group up in Khasab port and heads toward mountain range. The guide introduces the key attractions and history before leaving for the safari.
09:45 AM — Khor Najd viewpoint
The road climbs to a ridge above Khor Najd, the only bay in Musandam accessible by road. The inlet sits far below, surrounded by bare rock on all sides. Most groups spend around 20 minutes here for photos before moving on.
10:15 AM — Bait Al Qufl
An old stone lock house built into the mountainside centuries ago to control movement through the mountain passes. The guide walks you through the site.
10:45 AM — Wadi As Sayh
The route drops into Wadi As Sayh, a Bedouin village sitting on a plateau at 1,100 meters above sea level. The village is still inhabited. Goats move freely between the stone houses. The setting is unlike anything on the coast.
11:30 AM — Jebel Al Harim Summit
The limestone at the summit contains marine fossils dating back 50 million years. Shells, coral and sea creatures are visible in the rock face at 2,087 meters above sea level. Your guide explains how a seabed ended up at the highest point in Musandam.
12:30 PM — Return And Lunch At Al Shamalia Grill
The safari heads back down to Khasab, where a table is already reserved for the group. The trip closes with a reserved lunch at Al Shamalia, included in the price, before the group heads home.
