Khasab Musandam Oman is the smallest region of Oman which is situated at the top of the Arabian Peninsula. Musandam is known as a unique destination because of its separation from the Oman via UAE. Musandam is full of adventurous places that can be explored while visiting Khasab Musandam. Here are the top adventurous places in Khasab Musandam that must be visited by every tourist while you are in Khasab Musandam Oman.

  1. Khasab Fort

Khasab Fort is situated near the Khasab port. Khasab port is exactly opposite to the famous and amazing Lulu Hypermarket of Khasab Musandam. Khasab Fort is known as the most adventurous place to visit in Khasab Musandam.

The recent characteristics of the fort consist of a round and empty focal tower in the center with a square-molded external divider. The base of Khasab Fort also presents the three old Omani boats that were started from the Kumzar on the northern side of Oman. With all these three boats many other watercrafts are also displayed at the entrance of the Khasab fort.

It is sure that you will enjoy the visit to Khasab fort. You can explore the many parts of old Khasab and Oman by visiting the fort. Spend one hour to enjoy the beauty of Bait Al Qufl which is considered the place of locks. You will also get a chance to explore the leftovers of old houses in Rawdah Bowl. To reach the Acacia Forest follow the road towards Khor Najd from Khasab and drive towards the end and you will find the Acacia Forest or Wadi Sall Ala on the right-hand side

  1. Jebel Al Harim

Jebel Al Harim is also known as the “Mountain of Women”. It is a high mountain pass that is 2.087m above sea level and is situated in the Musandam Peninsula of Northern Oman. This pass also known as “Jebel as-Sayh” is the highest mountain in Musandam. The road towards Jebel Al Harim is rocky and sharp. While travelling towards the Jebel Harim you will pass through the remote areas which will give you a fascinating view so be ready to enjoy the amazing views along the way. You can also travel by normal car on this road. Do remember in the night it is cold at the top of the mountain and it becomes the freezing point. Don’t forget to have extra water and try while driving your car towards the Jebel Al Harim.

Along the visit to Jebel Harim, you can also explore the village of Rawdah which is surrounded by mountains. This village also known as the Rawdah bowl presents an old graveyard which is evidence of population for many years.

  1. Khor Najd

Khor Najd is one of the best places to camp in Khasab Musandam. Khor Najd is considered one of the largest lagoons in the Governorate of Musandam. Tourists who are tired and want to rest, stay here during bad weather conditions of sea. There are two options to get reached at Khor Najd including;

  • Traditional vessels which take 4 hours from Khasab by the Strait of Hormuz
  • By 4-wheel drive passing through a beautiful mountain road which takes 30 minutes to enjoy the scenic views of the lagoon from the 420 meters height. From the height, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery of the sea and mountains.

Along with exploring the Khor Najd, you can also camp here to enjoy the beauty of the region at night. The viewpoint of the lagoon is amazing and worth the nature and relaxation. If you are traveling through the four-wheel access then you can also enjoy a stay for lunch on the road to Khor Najd which is the best spot for lunch and break.   1. Bukha Fort

Bukha Fort is situated in the Musandam peninsula and is one of the amazing locations of the Arabian Peninsula which is located towards the Iran and Strait of Hormuz. This spectacular fort is in the most attractive location, the sea is just in front of the fort, and high mountains are just above to it. Bukha Fort was built in the 16th century by the Portuguese but now it is fully renovated and impressive. There is also a watch tower in the mountains that gives the best views to the tourists.

It is one of the most beautiful landmarks that is never missed by tourists while they are driving from the UAE border to Khasab. On the opposite side of the sea, there is also a lovely view covered with mountains and one of the ancient towers.
