The AED 125 tours are cheaper because they start at Khasab port and you get yourself up there. After that it’s just time. Three hours is enough to get into Khor Sham and swim at Telegraph Island. Give it a full day and you pick up Seebi Island and lunch on the boat. Anything longer and you’re either staying out overnight or heading inland to Jebel Al Harim and Khor Najd.
We collect you in Dubai, Sharjah or Ras Al Khaimah, clear the Al Dara border with you, and have you back the same night. On the water it’s Telegraph and Seebi Islands, lunch on the boat and dolphins on most days. You just bring your passport, swimwear and good vibes.

What Is Khasab Oman?
Khasab is the capital of Musandam, an Omani governorate at the northern tip of Arabia, cut off from the rest of Oman by UAE territory. Dubai is about 200 km away, roughly three hours door to door through Ras Al Khaimah and the Al Dara border crossing.
The coastline breaks into flooded mountain valleys called khors. Limestone cliffs rise straight out of the water on both sides. Telegraph Island sits inside one of the main inlets where British engineers laid a submarine cable in the 1860s, and the ruins are still visible from the water. Jebel Al Harim at 2,087 meters is the highest point in Musandam and the backdrop for the mountain safari route.
Khasab Oman tours run almost daily from October to May. Through June to September we switch to weekends, with the overnight cruise and beach camping closed until October.

Which Khasab Oman tour is best for first time visitors?
The Khasab Day Trip With UAE Pickup, if you’re coming up from the UAE. We collect you, handle the Al Dara border, and you get a full day on the fjords with Telegraph and Seebi Islands, snorkeling and lunch on deck. If you’re already in Khasab or driving yourself, the Khasab Full Day Dhow Cruise covers the same water at AED 150 instead of AED 535, because there’s no transport in the price.
What is the best time to visit Khasab Oman?
October to May is the main season, with almost daily departures and calm water. Water sits between 22 and 32 degrees and visibility for snorkeling and diving is at its best. From June to September we run on weekends. It’s hot, with humidity building from August, but the day tours still go. The overnight dhow cruise and beach camping are the two that close for the summer and reopen in October.
How far is Khasab from Dubai and how long is the drive?
About 200 km. Around two and a half hours of driving through Ras Al Khaimah to the Al Dara border, then 30 to 45 minutes at the crossing, so roughly three and a half hours door to door. Weekend mornings and public holidays are slower at the border, which is why our departure times are early. The coast road that bends along the fjords starts once you clear Al Dara, and it’s the best part of the drive.
Do I need an Oman visa for Khasab tours?
Yes. Khasab is Oman, so you cross a border to get there. Most nationalities get the visa on arrival at Al Dara for AED 50. Some have to arrange it in advance through the Oman e-visa portal. If you entered the UAE on a visa on arrival yourself you can still come, get your Oman visa at the border, and return on the same or a new UAE visa. Send us your passport details before booking and we’ll tell you which applies to you.
What documents do I need to enter Khasab Oman?
Originals only. Photocopies and phone photos don’t get stamped. Your passport needs at least 90 days of validity from your travel date, and if you’re a UAE resident your Emirates ID needs the same. If you hold more than one passport, bring them all, because the rule that applies to you depends on which one you travel on.
Can I self drive to Khasab from UAE?
Yes, and plenty of guests do. The car has to be registered in your name, or the registered owner travels with you. You need Oman insurance, which you can buy at the Al Dara border. Cars under bank finance need a no objection certificate from the lender. Bring the physical registration document, because digital copies are not accepted at the border. Self drive guests meet the dhow at Khasab port.
Do you offer group rates for Khasab tours?
Yes. The private boats and vehicles are already priced by group size rather than per head, so a private dhow starts at AED 800 for up to 15 guests and scales from there. On shared tours we quote larger groups directly. Message us on WhatsApp with your numbers and dates and you’ll get a figure back rather than a per person price multiplied out.
Are Khasab dhow cruises suitable for children and non swimmers?
Yes to both. Life jackets are provided and every swim stop is optional, so you can stay on the boat and nobody will push you. Children aged 4 to 10 pay a reduced rate and infants under 4 are free on most shared tours. With toddlers the half day cruise is the easier one, because three hours on the water is a different proposition to fourteen.
Is food included on Khasab tours, and is it halal?
Everything we serve is halal. The full day cruise includes lunch on board, the half day has refreshments, and the overnight cruise covers all meals. You’re welcome to bring your own food if you’d rather. Tell us about any dietary requirements when you book and we’ll work around them.
What should I bring on a Khasab Oman tour?
Your original passport and Emirates ID, swimwear, a towel and sun protection. Snorkeling gear and life jackets are on the boat. Bring AED 50 in cash if your nationality pays the Oman visa at the border. Between January and mid February the nights on deck drop to around 15 degrees, so anyone on the overnight cruise or beach camping wants a jacket.
